COLTS BEAT JETS MANNING RETURNS TO SUPER BOWL

The Indianapolis Colts beat the NY Jets in the AFC Championship game 30-17. The Jets played great for the first 28 and a half minutes building a surprising  11 point lead against the Colts. Mark Sanchez looked amazing completing a couple of long passes including a 80 yard touchdown to Braylon Edwards. Sanchez also had a 9 yard TD pass to cap off a 77 yard Drive.

Sanchez did a incredible job of carrying the Jets when their high powered running game was derailed by a good Colts defense and a rib injury to star running back Shonn Green who was held to 41 yards and his back up Thomas Jones was held to 42 yards. Sanchez did eventually throw a interception but the game was already over by then. For a rookie it was an outstanding  performance throwing for 257 yards on 17 of 30 attempts with 2 TD’s.

On the Colts side they proved to everyone they more than likely would have gone undefeated if they had chosen to. Peyton Manning showed why he will be the Greatest Quarterback of All Time when he done setting records. The Jets defense confused him for a while but with a little over 1 minute left before half time Manning threw 3 passes to Austin Collie totaling 80 yards ending with a 16 yard TD pass that cut the Jets lead to 17-13 and giving the Jets a preview of their demise.

The Jets took away Reggie Wayne and held Dallas Clark to just 4 catches  for 3 yards with 1 TD, but Manning made up for that by throwing  7 passes for 123 yards and 1 TD to Austin Collie and 11 passes to Pierre Garcon for 151 yards and 1 TD. Peyton Manning finished the game with 377 yards on 26 of 39 passing and 3 TD’s making him the NFL’s all time leader with 7 career 300 yard post season games passing Joe Montana and Kurt Warner.

Peyton Manning looks like he is ready to silence his critics once and for all by winning his second Super Bowl. We will see it should be another great game.
