About

Hi my name is Steve and I am a hardcore life long football fan. I grew up a Minnesota Vikings fan so I have had more than my share of  disapointments. I started following the Vikings in 1973  just in time to see them lose Superbowl 8 to the Miami Dolphins.

The following season I got to see them lose Superbowl 9 to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1975  came the biggest disapointment when the Vikings lost the NFC   Championship game to the Dallas Cowboys  in the last minute on a Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson Hail Mary pass that I still remember like it was yesterday and have not gotten over it yet.

Minnesota got another chance the next season against the hated Oakland Raiders in Superbowl 11 with the same result another loss their 4th in 4 tries. The 80’s were not very good to the Vikings except for the 1986 playoffs when an average Minnesota team upset the Saints and the 49ers on the road before their luck ran out against the Washington Redskins in the NFC Championship game.

The most recent heart breaking loss came in 1998 ,when the 15-1 Minnesota Vikings needed a field goal to put the NFC Championship out of reach against the Atlanta Falcons. Piece of cake right ! The Vikings kicker was Gary Anderson and he had not missed a kick in almost 2 years. Piece of cake right ! The Vikings are going to the Superbowl right !  HE MISSED !!!

The Falcons marched down the field and tied the game sending it in to overtime where Atlanta won the game and a trip to the Superbowl. I still follow the Vikings but also Follow the Miami Dolphins now. I am hoping they both get back to the playoffs this season and do some damage.

Now you know a little bit about me and I hope you enjoy my I Love Everything Football Blog.
