#3 Alabama beat #9 LSU 24-15 to remain unbeaten and earns their second straight trip to the SEC Championship game on Dec. 5th in Atlanta. Alabama will face the Florida Gator’s to decide who plays in the BCS Title game more than likely against the Texas Longhorns.
LSU played Alabama close most of the game but injuries took a toll on the Tigers who lost quarterback Jordan Jefferson to an ankle injury and star runningback Charles Scott to a collar bone injury. Both players missed most of the second half of the game.
Alabama was down 13-15 in the 4th quarter when Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy found Julius Jones forĀ a 73 yard touchdown strike. Bama went for the 2 point coversion and got it on a 2 yard run by Trent Richardson. Alabama added a 40 yard Leigh Tiffin field goal with 3:00 min. left to play to seal the victory for the Crimson Tide.
The win should move Alabama back to the #2 position in the BCS standings even though Texas won big over UCF earlier today.
